We have so much ebb and flow of temperatures and winds here. We had a ton of snow before the new year and then we had periods of melting and blowing and melting and blowing. Our daytime moisture gets blown around at night and sometimes freezes like a glaze over everything. Here the moisture froze over a cavity in the snow.

I've always loved those thin thin crispy layers of ice...they always reminded me of those apples you get at the fair, dipped in melted sugar and then it hardens? my mind is drawing a blank on what that's called...
